insulation insulated bitumen boiler safe bitumen boiler
Imagine being given a gas cylinder free for every three you buy - every time while you own the boiler !
It isn't just saving fuel and money, insulation provides a more even heat, better performance, more efficient and controllable simmering and a much safer working environment!
THIS IS A SKETCH OF AN UNINSULATED or 'SINGLE SKIN' BOILER ( SOMETIMES SAID TO HAVE A 'THERMAL BREAK' )

Without insulation, the flames from the gas burner strike the boiler casing - and there is nothing between the user and a red hot piece of metal. This causes fearsome inefficiency and heat loss, plus a serious fire risk if splashed material contacts the overheated steel. Overheated metal soon de-natures and rusts causing the casing to collapse and paint is burned away on first use, so there is no protection for the exposed steel. This is massively inefficient and our tests have indicated that up to a quarter of the fuel used is wasted .
With an insulated boiler most of the heat that would have been lost lost through the casing is still available to heat bitumen. This reduces the amount of gas needed, improves simmering and makes the boiler safer to use. It also protects the external part of the casing from overheating. Performance is improved and you need less heat from the burner to melt the sealant. This gives lower contact temperatures and reduces thermal shock to the equipment and the material so that the temperature is more uniform and quality of the finished product is higher. FARVIS boilers are also on legs so that there is a safety air gap between the bottom of the boiler and the ground. This reduces the heat transferred to the ground and makes the boiler safer to use.

That's what insulation is about!
