ALL FARVIS INDUSTRIAL APPLIANCES ARE SUPPLIED WITH A MATCHED BURNER.

BURNERS DETAILED HERE AND ON THE FOLLOWING PAGES ARE FOR INDUSTRIAL USE.

WE DO NOT SUPPLY UNITS FOR DOMESTIC OR  COMMERCIAL CATERING - THEY ARE FOR INDUSTRIAL PROCESS USE ONLY.

THEY WILL NOT WORK IN A DOMESTIC BBQ.

Please note - any lpg burner fitted to an appliance used for domestic or commercial use such as catering, cooking or home use MUST be CE marked.  This is a legal requirement and without it the appliance can not legally be sold in the EU.  CE marking is not a rubber stamping job but requires a full test and evaluation , technical drawings and regular inspections of the manufacturing facility.  Unfortunately without CE marking it is not possible to obtain insurance,  sell or install a gas appliance  for domestic or commercial purposes.

CE marking requirements do not apply to industrial and process equipment such as bitumen boilers and industrial cooking equipment used on dedicated premises.  They do apply to commercial hog roasting units, catering cookers and burners for use in BBQs and kitchens.

We can only supply burners for industrial use.

THEY WILL NOT WORK IN A DOMESTIC BBQ.

IIMPORTANT INFORMATION - SAFETY

OUR BURNERS ARE INDUSTRIAL UNITS AVAILABLE AS SPARES  FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS USED IN OUTDOOR OR FREELY VENTILATED AREAS.  WE WOULD ASK THAT YOU READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE LOOKING AT THE BURNER SECTION AS THERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT SAFETY AND OPERATING FACTORS THAT YOU MUST UNDERSTAND BEFORE CHOOSING A BURNER FOR YOUR OWN USE.   WHERE POSSIBLE WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU CONTACT AN EXPERIENCED MANUFACTURER LIKE FARVIS AND PURCHASE A READY MADE APPLIANCE  THAT HAS BEEN TYPE APPROVED AND BUILT AND TESTED TO A SUITABLE STANDARD.

BUILDING OR MODIFYING YOUR OWN INDUSTRIAL PROCESS EQUIPMENT IS CERTAINLY POSSIBLE BUT IT MUST BE CHECKED AND COMMISSIONED BY A REGISTERED FITTER BEFORE  FIRST OPERATION. OUR BURNERS ARE NOT DOMESTIC / COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT AND PROVIDE A VERY HIGH OUTPUT - UP TO 90 KW or MORE!  THEY SHOULD ONLY BE FITTED AND COMMISSIONED BY EXPERIENCED GAS FITTERS WHO ARE USED TO LPG WORK AT 2 BAR PRESSURE.

All our LPG equipment is for industrial process use only and as such does not carry CE marking. All units are built up to a specific order and thus distance selling regulations do not apply. For safe and efficient operation it is essential to ensure that all gas appliances are correctly designed, installed &  commissioned.

Individual burners and accessories are sold as 'spare parts' for your qualified LPG fitters to install in the same way that you would buy an industrial engine for installation in your own machine.  We can not provide advice or recommendations regarding the suitability of our burners and equipment other than overall physical dimensions, gas pressure and approximate fuel consumption and we do not offer a design, setting up or commissioning service.

CHOOSING A BURNER

WHEN CHOOSING A BURNER FOR YOUR APPLIANCE, IT IS NOT ONLY THE POWER AND PHYSICAL SIZE THAT MUST BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO ADD  CONTROL SYSTEMS   LIKE THE CTS 'PROPAMISER'.

SHOVING THE BIGGEST BURNER YOU CAN FIND UNDER YOUR APPLIANCE , THROWING A MATCH AND DIVING FOR COVER MAY SEEM EASY BUT IS LIKELY TO RESULT IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND CERTAINLY WON'T GIVE GOOD RESULTS.  IT MAY ACTUALLY  DECREASE PERFORMANCE AND INCREASE FUEL CONSUMPTION AND EMISSIONS.  ADDITIONALLY A BURNER MAY NEED TO BE ADJUSTED TO SUIT THE APPLIANCE IN THE SAME WAY THAT A CAR NEEDS TO BE TUNED TO GIVE BEST PERFORMANCE.

TRYING TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE OF AN EXISTING UNIT CAN PRODUCE MANY UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES INCLUDING  PRODUCTION OF  CARBON MONOXIDE, SPOT HEATING, RADIATED HEAT AND SWAMPING OF THE COMBUSTION SPACE.  YOU MUST ALSO KNOW THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HEATING APPLIANCE AND THE MATERIAL TO BE HEATED.

OUR BURNERS ARE SUPPLIED WITH A GAS INPUT JET TO GIVE A GOOD LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE AND ECONOMY. IF YOU USE A NON STANDARD BURNER IN YOUR APPLIANCE, IT MUST BE CHECKED BEFORE USE.

CYLINDERS

A SUITABLE GAS SUPPLY WILL BE NEEDED.  THESE BURNERS OPERATE ON A PROPANE ( ORANGE ) GAS SUPPLY WITH A MAXIMUM PRESSURE OF 30 PSI / 2 BAR.  THEY MUST BE SUPPLIED FROM A SUITABLE ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE REGULATOR THAT SCREWS INTO THE CYLINDER OUTLET VALVE AND MUST NEVER BE SUPPLIED DIRECT FROM THE CYLINDER.   THE SUPPLY HOSE FOR ALL BOILERS AND PLANT MUST BE ARMOURED TO PREVENT DAMAGE.

CYLINDERS COME IN VARIOUS SIZES AND EVERY TYPE HAS  A MAXIMUM OFF-TAKE OF GAS, ABOVE WHICH IT 'FREEZES BACK' AND REDUCES THE SUPPLY PRESSURE.   THIS DEPENDS ON THE LENGTH OF TIME THE UNIT HAS BEEN OPERATING,  THE AMOUNT BEING TAKEN OFF AND THE TEMPERATURE OF THE SURROUNDING AIR.  IN HOT WEATHER YOU CAN GET MORE GAS FROM A SMALLER CYLINDER.    YOU CAN GET A LARGE QUANTITY FROM A SMALL CYLINDER IN A SHORT BURST, BUT TO MAINTAIN A HIGH TAKE OFF RATE IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO INCREASE CYLINDER SIZE OR EVEN USE TWO OR MORE COUPLED CYLINDERS. GENERALLY IF FROST APPEARS ON THE CYLINDER IT IS REACHING THE MAXIMUM TAKE OFF RATE ( but this is not necessarily 'freezing back' despite the appearance ! )AND THE CYLINDER SIZE SHOULD BE INCREASED OR TWO LINKED TOGETHER WITH 'PIGTAILS' AND A 'Y' CONNECTOR.

GENERAL

WHILE WE WILL BE PLEASED TO GIVE ADVICE, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW ALL THE PARAMETERS AND THUS THE CHOICE AND OPERATION OF ANY OF THESE UNITS IS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY AND MUST BE CHECKED BY A QUALIFIED FITTER BEFORE  USE.  YOU SHOULD BE AWARE THAT IN SOME COUNTRIES AND LOCATIONS THE USE OF CYLINDER GAS IS SUBJECT TO ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS.

ALL EQUIPMENT IS FOR USE IN THE UK AND EC AND FOR INDUSTRIAL PROCESS USE ONLY

All burners are made to specific order and as such can not be returned for a refund if found to be unsuitable for your intended purpose. As a result the 'distance selling' rules do not apply to these products.

Burners will need to be shielded to prevent the flames being blown about by the wind and it is also essential that the exhaust gas can get away freely from the firebox – this is a major safety issue as restricted burning can lead to rapid build-up of carbon monoxide which can be fatal.  Thus you need to ensure that both the firebox and the building are adequately ventilated and this needs to be checked by a combustion engineer to ensure it is safe. Burner and appliance design is complex and while we can supply industrial burners for bespoke uses, we can not accept responsibility if they are unsuitable or if they way they are installed causes problems.

All sales are subject to our standard terms and conditions on the strict understanding that the purchaser is a bona fide industrial user and takes full responsibility for installation and use of the equipment.  While Farvis are happy to offer advice, this is only  of a general nature as we won't be able to inspect the equipment, and it is up to the purchaser to be certain that the installation is safe and complies with all regulations.  All sales are on this condition and the price charged reflects the customers acceptance of this in full.

All equipment prices exclude carriage & VAT  E&OE. Any warranty issues are dealt with at our facility in Bristol and the cost of transport ,engineering, downtime or consequential loss are specifically excluded and the price charged reflects this. Damage caused by abuse or incorrect operation or failure to read the instruction booklet is not covered under warranty.

OUR BURNERS WILL NOT OPERATE ON 37 MB OR 50 MB GAS PRESSURE.

THEY CAN NOT BE ADAPTED TO OPERATE ON 37 MB OR 50 MB GAS PRESSURE.

THEY BURN PROPANE- NOT BUTANE AND NOT MAINS GAS - THEY CAN NOT BE CONVERTED.

WE DO NOT SUPPLY BURNERS FOR DOMESTIC GAS APPLIANCES, CATERING VANS AND HOME BBQ'S
